Scrap Metal FAQ’s

Why use a Scrap Yard?

Scrap Metal (which originates from homes, businesses, schools, etc…) should be properly disposed of at a recycling Scrap Yard. Scrap Metals should NOT be put in our landfills, but rather a place where it can be processed for later melting into new products.

One Way Recycling will pay cash for your Scrap Metal. They key here, however, is that you must find a way to get your Scrap Metal to our yard. Many people just don’t have the resources to get Scrap Metal to our yard, which is why in some cases we will offer to remove your Scrap Metal (some for a fee, some for free – really depends on the metal type and how much you have).

Can I Recycle ?

When most people hear the work “recycle” they think of paper goods, plastics and aluminum cans.

However, there is another industry in the recycling world called Scrap Metal Recycling, which process more than 125 Million Tons of recycling each year!

Scrap Metal Recycling is the most popular form of recycling in the United States. Steel and aluminum can be infinitely recycled. Scrap metal is ferrous metals or nonferrous metals. Large items such as cars, dishwasher, washing machines, stoves, and refrigerators are generally created from metal and are the best items to recycle. When you recycle Scrap Metal, you re-use the material and save on natural resources and reduce greenhouse gases.

In addition to providing benefits for the environment, however, Scrap Metal Recycling is also a far more cost effective solution to creating metals than actually producing new metals. As a result, recycling metals is one of the biggest industries in the world today.
